Garowe,Puntland Somalia 9 September 2025 – Gaashaan Legal and Consultancy Firm, in collaboration with the Media Association of Puntland (MAP) and Free Press Unlimited (FPU), convened a one-day validation workshop in Garowe on the development of a training curriculum guide for Freedom of Expression and Media Law. The workshop brought together Puntland lawyers, media defenders, and a broad range of stakeholders.
Participants included government officials, representatives from civil society organizations, the Puntland Bar Association, senior journalists, and media house owners. The meeting aimed to review and validate the final draft of the training curriculum guide designed specifically for Puntland lawyers.
Throughout the session, participants provided constructive feedback and contributed to finalizing the draft curriculum, ensuring it reflects both legal and media sector priorities.
The workshop was officially opened by the Director of the Ministry of Information, alongside the Chairperson of MAP Puntland. In conclusion, the CEO of Gaashaan Legal Firm and senior legal counsel, who facilitated the session, thanked the participants for their valuable contributions.
